At this farmer-first neighborhood market in The Heights, you’ll find hyper-fresh produce, pastured eggs, local dairy, grass-fed meats, and pantry staples from small producers and growers as close as Montrose and as far as West Texas, curated like your favorite farmers market, and open multiple days a week.
The Houston Farmers Market has been a staple in Houston since 1958. The family-owned business on Airline Drive that started out at just 3800 square feet expanded over the years to more than 20,000 square feet. Much of the produce is grown in the area and across Texas, though some of it is shipped in from other growing regions.
In 2004, Urban Harvest’s Saturday Farmers Market started with just seven vendors, providing an outlet for community and backyard gardeners to sell fresh produce harvested directly from their own soils. Today, many of our original vendors – including Animal Farm, Atkinson Farms, and Pat Greer’s Kitchen – are now part of one of Texas’ largest farmers markets
